The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse. This position supports receiving, storing, and distributing meters and components, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping the warehouse organized and compliant with safety and quality standards. The Warehouse Assistant reports to the Inventory Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations:
•Record items issued and returned by technicians in NetSuite.
•Receive and inspect shipments from vendors and regulatory agencies. Verify items and quantities against packing slips and inspection forms.
•Deliver materials to various Weights & Measures departments across California, fostering strong working relationships.
•Assist with daily meter and component pulls for technician assignments.
•Organize and store products using labels and barcodes, ensuring accurate identification and inventory tracking.
•Match serial numbers for recertified meters with appropriate paperwork.
•Conduct physical inventory audits and cycle counts.
Inventory and Organization:
•Maintain accurate inventory data within NetSuite and Excel-based reports.
•Independently manage organization and restocking of returned materials.
•Transport product to multiple MeterNet locations and occasionally field meet-ups with technicians.
•Assist with shipping, receiving, and vendor pickups (UPS, Uline, Weights & Measures).
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience:
•High School Diploma, or equivalent
•1–2 years of experience in warehouse or inventory-related roles.
•Experience with inventory tracking systems; NetSuite knowledge a plus.
•Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
•Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
•Comfortable working at heights and handling items up ladders.
Skills:
•Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication.
•Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•High attention to detail and accuracy.
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
•Knowledge of water sub-metering practices is a plus.

Pay Rate: $20-22/hr, DOE
