CH Site: Kelso Conservation Area *Must be willing/able to work at any CH designated area.
- Serve as first point of contact for visitors, providing professional, friendly, and knowledgeable interactions using various forms of communication (Phone, email, in person, intercom)
- Assist visitors, providing information and/or working with internal parties to ensure effective communication
- Assist visitors with navigating the Park Pass reservation system
- Greet visitors as they arrive, offer information on current programs and services or other applicable details for their visit
- Promote Conservation Halton and Glen Eden membership and other programs and services where possible
- Follow proper point of sale procedures (calculate charges, receive payments, balance cash) where applicable
- Assist with maintenance activities such as other administrative tasks, disinfecting workspace, tidying, moving supplies (pens, paper), etc.
- Assist in the coordination or logistics of events happening throughout the parks
- Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of Conservation Halton/Glen Eden programs and services or willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Interest in tourism, hospitality, parks and recreation is considered an asset
- Ability to handle the public and media with tact, discretion, and with a positive personality
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work flexible shifts with varying hours, depending on visitation levels
- Ability to travel to worksites not serviced by public transportation
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Successful candidates are required to provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.*- CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
- Starting at $17.55 per hour
- Part time and full-time hours available; hours may vary depending on availability
