Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Marketing to lead and elevate our B2B marketing efforts. In this key leadership role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives brand visibility, supports sales growth, and strengthens customer retention. This position will oversee a team of internal marketers, manage external agencies, and contractors as needed to ensure seamless execution of all marketing initiatives. This role reports into the Chief Commercial Officer. This is a position that balances hands on with strategic initiatives with the ability to pivot. This is full time exempt position located in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Brand Elevation:
•Develop and execute a holistic B2B marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, including demand generation, brand positioning, and customer retention.
•Lead brand elevation efforts to strengthen market presence, refine messaging, and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
•Identify and pursue new market opportunities to expand reach and increase brand awareness.
•Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, providing insights on market trends and customer behavior to inform business decisions.
Marketing Communications & Content:
•Oversee the creation and execution of internal and external communications across multiple channels, including digital, social, email, public relations, and traditional media.
•Ensure clear, consistent, and compelling messaging and storytelling that reflects the company’s value proposition.
•Manage the development of content marketing initiatives (e.g., white papers, case studies, blog posts) to support thought leadership and lead generation.
Account Retention & Sales Enablement:
•Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and implement sales enablement strategies, including the creation of collateral, pitch decks, and sales tools.
•Support account retention and expansion efforts by creating targeted campaigns and materials that strengthen customer relationships.
•Leverage customer insights and feedback to refine marketing strategies and improve customer experience.
Event Management & Execution:
•Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of industry events, trade shows, and webinars to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
•Oversee the development of event marketing collateral and post-event follow-up campaigns.
•Ensure events align with brand standards and effectively showcase the company’s value proposition.
Team & Agency Management:
•Direct and mentor a high-performing internal marketing team, providing coaching and development opportunities.
•Manage relationships with external agencies and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
•Oversee marketing operations, budget allocation, and performance measurement.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or related field
•10+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
•Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive growth and retention.
Preferred Qualifications
•Strong expertise in brand management, demand generation, and sales enablement.
•Experience managing multi-channel campaigns, including digital, content, and event marketing.
•Skilled in managing teams, agencies, and contractors, with a collaborative and results-driven approach.
•Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
•Proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting, with a data-driven mindset.
Physical Requirements
•Must submit to company required pre-employment drug screen.
•This position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
•Able to attend conferences/industry shows and assist with booth set up.
