PURPOSE/SUMMARY: ISAT Total Support is looking for a dedicated Vibration Isolation Specialist to join our Seismic Bracing Division at our Portland, Oregon branch. In this role, you’ll support both the local engineering and sales teams by providing expert technical support focused on vibration isolation systems. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
•Gather and review vibration isolation take-offs by communicating effectively with sales, estimating staff and customers to collect all required information.
•Develop and provide accurate estimates and quotes to the sales team, customers, or other designated contacts.
•Sales: become an expert in VI products and knowledge to be able to sell products to customers
•Prepare and process VI layout drawing packages, coordinating closely with sales staff and customers to ensure all necessary information is included.
•Build and organize submittals for sales and projects as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
•Compile and submit information for custom engineering packages, tracking progress to ensure timely delivery to customers.
•Serve as a technical resource for customers and sales staff, offering detailed support on vibration isolation requirements and installation assistance.
•Understand and apply relevant building codes to ISAT projects, including (IBC 2015/2018/2021) and OSSC 2022.
•Label, file, and organize completed quotes/submittals/drawings daily, maintaining an orderly storage system and assisting with the archiving of older drawings.
•Track project schedules and support project managers in all aspects of vibration isolation for Portland-based projects.
•Ensure timely processing and accurate documentation of change orders, RFIs, and proposals related to vibration isolation products.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, sales, and project management, to ensure alignment throughout all phases of the project.
•Provide field support or virtual troubleshooting to assist contractors or clients with implementation or installation issues.
•Support product development efforts by providing feedback to internal teams based on field performance and client input.
•Conduct training or share knowledge with internal teams regarding vibration isolation systems, building code updates, or best practices.
•Participate in quality assurance by reviewing submittals and engineering packages for accuracy and compliance.
•Proactively identify process improvements to streamline estimating, submittal creation, or drawing documentation.
•Attend client meetings or calls as needed to assist with technical clarification and ensure project alignment.
•Stay current on industry trends and code changes, sharing relevant updates with the team.
•Assist in onboarding new team members by sharing ISAT processes and tools to promote team success.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· Education—High school diploma or GED required; a two-year technical or engineering degree is a plus.
· Technical Skills—Knowledge of vibration isolation, construction, and relevant building codes (IBC/OSSC/ASCE) is preferred.
· Organizational Skills—Ability to maintain organized project documentation, filing systems, and drawing archives.
· Communication—Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
· Attention to Detail—Demonstrated ability to manage and document technical specifications accurately.
· Self-starter/driven—Take provided training and run with it. Help expand sales and technical assistance. Become an expert in all aspects of VI.
