The Procurement and Inventory Specialist supports the company’s operational and project needs through strategic sourcing, vendor management, and effective inventory control. This role ensures materials, equipment, and services are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position operates within a corporate supply chain structure, providing centralized procurement support to field operations, maintenance, and capital projects across multiple sites.
· Manage end-to-end procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services to support corporate and field operations.
· Develop and issue purchase orders, requests for quotations (RFQs), and bid evaluations in alignment with internal policies.
· Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure reliability.
· Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement.
· Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, finance, and field operations teams to align purchasing with project and operational requirements.
· Monitor supplier compliance with safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
· Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
· Oversee inventory levels across corporate and field locations to support uninterrupted operations.
· Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and optimal stock levels.
· Monitor and analyze inventory data to identify trends, shortages, and potential excess.
· Ensure accurate data entry and reporting within ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online).
· Support periodic cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory audits.
· Develop and implement improvements in inventory management processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
· Serve as the liaison between finance, operations management and field operations to align procurement priorities with business objectives.
· Assist in demand forecasting and budgeting for materials and services.
· Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement costs, supplier performance, quality and inventory turnover.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and materials management systems.
· Coordinate with field operations and shipping departments for timely movement of goods to and from project sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, and inventory management within the oil and gas industry (corporate or operations environment preferred).
- Experience supporting multiple business units or field locations.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices, materials/inventory management, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFS, QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Note: In depth experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks is required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret spend and inventory data for decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or APICS CPIM.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO, API, and local content requirements.
Primarily office-based with occasional travel to field sites, warehouses, or supplier locations.
