Position: VMI Qualification Specialist – Senior/Expert level Location: Oroville, CA
CPUS is seeking senior level VMI Qualification Specialist to proctor VMI Assessments. Qualification assessments will focus on a specific area of skill/knowledge including, but not limited to, any task(s) performed within vegetation management inspection work.
The successful candidate would perform and administers initial and subsequent non-routine Assessments, written or computer-based assessment tests and field observations of knowledge and skills including new and/or difficult skills and techniques, with general guidance on new assignments.
Work to be performed at the PG&E Qualified Evaluator Yard in Oroville, CA
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Under direct guidance of supervisor or senior peers, performs and administers initial and subsequent routine physical standard assessments, written or computer-based assessment tests and field observations of knowledge relevant to vegetation management inspection operations and skills in an area of technical expertise.
- Under direct guidance, documents and communicates results and findings to first line supervision, using standardized templates and forms.
- Under direct guidance, provides coaching report and feedback to participants upon completion of the series of tests, observations, and evaluations.
- Under direct guidance, may provide recommendations and input to improve
assessment, test, observation and coaching tools and processes.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Any technical or continued education in related field. (forestry, utility vegetation management and/or logging).
- 5 years Utility Vegetation Management (Functioning at VMI or SVMI level for 2 years)
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR / First Aid.
- OSHA 30
- (we need verbiage for computer literacy for at least MS suite product, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proficiency with iOS handheld devices
o Registered Professional Forester
o TRAQ Arborist
