We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Hydrovac Operator to join our team in locating undetectable underground mains and services (gas,) using non-destructive excavation methods. The ideal candidate will have experience operating hydrovac trucks in urban, rural, and industrial environments and possess a strong understanding of utility maps, ground conditions, and safe digging practices.

Key Responsibilities:
•Operate hydrovac trucks to safely expose underground utilities that are not traceable by conventional locating equipment.
•Read and interpret utility maps, drawings, and site plans to guide excavation efforts.
•Work closely with utility locators, site supervisors, and project managers to identify target excavation areas.
•Ensure proper setup of vacuum and water systems, pressure levels, and debris containment for precise excavation.
•Maintain daily logs of excavation activity, soil conditions, findings, and safety checks.
•Adhere to all safety procedures, industry regulations, and company policies.
•Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of hydrovac equipment.
•Work in varying environments and weather conditions with a focus on safety and efficiency.
•Represent the company professionally while interacting with clients, contractors, and the public.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED; technical training is an asset.
•Valid CDL (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
•Proven experience operating hydrovac equipment (minimum 1–2 years preferred).
•Understanding of utility locating processes and challenges associated with undetectable mains/services.
•Knowledge of ground conditions, soil types, and safe excavation depths.
•Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
•Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.
•Strong communication and teamwork skills.
