We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Utility Technician II to join our team and help keep our essential services running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
As a Utility Technician II, you will play a key role in supporting LCA’s water and sewer operations through the following responsibilities:
- Vehicle and Equipment Operation: Operate CDL and non-CDL vehicles and equipment such as air compressors, jackhammers, vac-all, pumps, jet trucks, and vactor units.
- Maintenance & Installation: Perform jetting, access manholes, and assist with installation and repair of valves, hydrants, manholes, sewer lines, and meters.
- Building & Grounds Maintenance: Conduct general maintenance of facilities and equipment, including snow removal, salting, and plowing as needed.
- Task Execution: Follow work orders, requisitions, and procedures to complete assignments independently.
- Material Inspection: Receive and inspect incoming materials for accuracy and condition.
- Line Tracing: Use water and sewer line tracing equipment and software as necessary.
- Traffic & Customer Service: Erect barricades, direct traffic, and provide courteous customer support.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as needed to support utility operations.
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Licensure for the Level II role includes a current & valid:
- CDL Class B license with air brakes and tanker endorsement, and,
- Class E water distribution license and/or collection system license
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm. 24/7 stand-by service required for a minimum of 2 weeks per year
- Work Environment: Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions
