Utility Meter Reader

- Compensation: The target starting hourly wage is $24.00 depending on abilities and experience

- Mileage reimbursement at $0.70 per routed mile

- Hiring Timeline: Early January

- Reports To: Field Supervisor

- Travel: Daily travel to client community properties

Introduction

We have a client-first approach and seek a self-motivated candidate with a similar mentality to perform visual meter readings of electric, gas, and water meters for our client community properties. The schedule is set monthly and may adjust with route updates.

Responsibilities

- Complete routes as directed and provide feedback to the supervisor to improve efficiency

- Arrive on-site to the routed properties as scheduled to perform work duty

- Record meter reads using provided materials and equipment

- Stay on schedule and communicate effectively with the field supervisor for any deviation

- Submit work to the head office as instructed

Skills We Seek

- The physical capability of obtaining and inputting visual meter reads to company handheld device

- The ability to walk substantial distances outdoors, including bending, stooping, and similar physically demanding movements required to obtain meter reads

- Verifiable prior meter reading experience is highly desired but not required

- The ability to work with Google Workspace (i.e., Gmail, Chat, Calendar)

Requirements

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

- High school diploma

- Valid driver’s license

- Clean driving record

- Reliable personal vehicle

- State minimum vehicle insurance coverage
