Brief Description

Under broad guidance, the UTILITY LOCATOR is responsible for tasks in locating, identifying, and marking underground utilities; reading and interpreting utility maps to identify type and size of utilities; complying with Virginia's Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act & the Virginia Underground Utility Marking Standards.

Education

Required

- High school diploma or GED

Experience

Desired

- Prior experience locating utilities

- Understanding of utility systems with an emphasis on sanitary sewers

- Prior utility construction experience

- Prior experience with ground penetrating radar (GPR)

Licenses and Certifications Requirements

- Valid driver’s license from state of residence
