The Utility II position is a versatile role involving the operation of various heavy equipment and performing tasks on wet utility job sites. It requires adaptability, as responsibilities vary daily based on job site needs. The individual will work at different sites and check in with their manager each day for location and tasks. Equipment operation includes Rex Operator, Squeegee Loader, Backfill Loader, Tractor Backhoe, Wheeler, and Large Excavator, with minimal experience needed for Excavator operation.
Responsibilities:
•Perform various equipment operator duties based on the specific needs of the job site, including:

Rex Operator: Operate a Rex machine to assist with tasks as needed

Squeegee Loader Operator: Operate a squeegee loader for material handling and site preparation
+
Backfill Loader Operator: Use backfill loader equipment to assist with filling trenches and other site tasks
+
Tractor Backhoe Operator: Operate a tractor backhoe to assist with digging, trenching, and site preparation
+
Wheeler Operator: Operate a wheeler for tasks involving material handling, hauling, and grading

Large Excavator Operator: Operate a large excavator with minimal experience, with the opportunity to gain proficiency over time
•Responsible for checking in with the manager each day to determine the assigned job site and specific duties for the day.
•Work at different job sites, often on a daily basis, adapting quickly to the varying needs of each project.
•Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of work.
•Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
•Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or site supervisor.
Minimal experience with excavator operation, with the willingness to improve skills and gain expertise
•Proven ability to operate heavy machinery including Rex, Squeegee Loader, Backfill Loader, Tractor Backhoe, Wheeler, and Excavator
•Ability to adapt to different job site roles and tasks as needed
•Strong communication skills to collaborate with supervisors and other crew members
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
•Reliable transportation to travel between various job sites
