Utility Designer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Utility Designer in the Madison Area. The Utility Designer 2 position is responsible for basic design, detailed drawings, and permitting of telephone, electric, and/or gas projects within the area of assigned responsibility.

Responsibilities

· Completes basic utility designs under the direction of others.

o Collects field data

o Assembles drawings using AutoCAD

· Completes tabs and populates information in proprietary customer software.

· Completes permitting process with local authorities.

· Coordinates with construction crew for installation of facilities per the design.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience

· 2 year’s minimum experience in the utility industry, preferably design related work and thereby possessing knowledge of basic utility standards.

· Associates degree in civil engineering or civil technology are useful, but not required.

· Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD.

· Ability to manage numerous tasks/projects simultaneously.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word

· Attention to detail.

· Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing competing priorities.

· Ability to work effectively with all levels of management within the organization.

· Ability to handle confidential information.

· Position will work on projects primarily in the Madison and Southwest Wisconsin areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,959.53 - $67,392.13 per year
