Utility Construction Crew Leader

The experienced Crew Leader will assist in overseeing and manage construction projects from start to finish. he ideal candidate will lead a team of field workers, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of utility construction crews

- Interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility maps to guide installation

- Operate and oversee use of heavy equipment and tools

- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards

- Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and clients

- Train and mentor crew members to improve performance and safety

- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and crew hours

Requirements

- Proven leadership and team management skills

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)

- Familiarity with trenching, pipe laying, and underground utility installation

- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory requirements

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments

- Experience with GPS, laser levels, and other surveying tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
