EXPECTATION
A senior unit operator will be a member of the HTI operations department be placed on one of HTI’s shift groups and report directly to an operations supervisor. As a senior operator the main requirements will be to have a working knowledge of several operational tasks and be able to exercise them with a low level of supervision.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To operate units, troubleshoot unit issues, and assist the operations supervisor in plant operations.
TECHNICAL & BEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTS
Technical
•High School Diploma or equivalent certificate – reading, writing and math skills are required
•Computer Skills and ability to interface with HTI’s DCS to control operating units
•Interpret and revise AutoCAD drawings for use in the field
•Swagelok Certificate for Tube Bending and Thread Connections
•Working knowledge of auxiliary equipment; namely boilers, blowers, air compressors, and hydrogen compressors
•Boiler Operators License
Behavioral
•Ability to work safely, participate in safety programs, and utilize PPE as required
•Demonstrate a good performance record of on time and no unexcused absences
•Conform to good housekeeping practices for all job assignments
•Be available for reasonable amounts of overtime
•Respond to emergency calls
REQUIRED OPERATOR COMPETENCIES:
•Some background in operator activities; hot sample taking, insulating vessels, cleaning flushing and reassembling of vessels and miscellaneous
•Basic knowledge in the use of the hand tools required to perform basic maintenance tasks
•Ability to assess equipment for problems and understand solutions for fixing once demonstrated
