Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of the Underground Maintenance Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
+ Work closely with the Mine Maintenance Superintendent as well as the project and engineering teams during the mine development and construction phases + Provide maintenance input into the design and selection of all underground mobile equipment and fixed infrastructure + Participate in equipment commissioning and testing, ensuring maintainability and operational readiness in accordance with the Ontario Mine’s Act and Regulations
+ Determine the optimal mobile equipment fleet composition required for current development and future production phases + Work with the onsite Planning and Reliability teams to provide detailed maintenance strategies, including preventative maintenance schedules and spare parts requirements for the mobile fleet (e.g., jumbos, LHDs, trucks, utility vehicles, etc.)
+ Collaborate with various construction parties on the design and specification of all underground fixed infrastructure related to maintenance, including:
- Ventilation Systems: Define maintenance strategies for main fans, auxiliary fans, regulators, and associated ductin
- Pumping Systems: Develop maintenance plans for dewatering pumps, sumps, and associated piping networks.
- Electrical Distribution: Plan maintenance for substations, transformers, switchgear, cabling, and lighting systems
- Utility Infrastructure: Consider maintenance needs for compressed air lines, potable water lines, and communications systems
- Identify critical spare parts and long-lead items for fixed infrastructure+ Establish the foundational maintenance work breakdown structures, procedures, and standards for both mobile and fixed assets + Develop initial preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and job plans + Specify the requirements for a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS/EAM) and assist in its implementation from the outset
+ Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies (e.g., RCM, FMECA) to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime from the start + Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance and asset performance
+ Provide critical input into the capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) budgeting for the maintenance department + Identify cost-effective solutions for maintenance during the development phase and for future operations
