Taylor Electric is a member-owned electric cooperative committed to providing safe, reliable power and fiber internet to the surrounding communities. Taylor Electric is looking for a motivated and hardworking individual to join the Tree Trimming crew as a Groundman. This is an entry-level role with the opportunity to grow into the Apprentice Lineman program. The ideal candidate for this position is dependable, eager to learn and interested in building a long-term career at the Cooperative.

Position Summary

A successful Tree Trimming and ROW Groundman is a strong team-player willing and able to take direction from peers and superiors. This position requires a hard-working person, who can assist a crew to ensure proper tree trimming and maintenance of right-of-way (ROW) areas. Safety is a top priority for this position; on-the-job training will be provided.

Work Hours/Conditions

- Typical work schedule is four (4) ten-hour days per week

- Majority of work takes place outdoors with exposure to adverse conditions such as extreme heat or cold, high winds, and stormy weather.

Education/Experience

- Must be able to meet or exceed the requirements outlined in the job description below.

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certification/Requirements

- This is a dangerous occupation; extreme vigilance and attention to high safety standards is required.

- Must possess a current Texas driver license and maintain an insurable driving record.

- Must have or be able to obtain a CDL.

- Must be able to complete and pass CPR and First Aid training.

- Must have physical stamina to lift heavy objects and work in extreme weather conditions.
