Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent will help lead and manage field crews and construction activities on all of SOLON’s projects.
Responsibilities•This position requires up to 100% travel to job sites in the Southwest United States. The company pays per diem, accommodations, and home visits.
•Under the direction of the General Superintendent, lead and direct the daily operations of the company, including managing Mechanical Foremen, Crew Chiefs, installation crews, and subcontractors.
•Ensure all company work is completed within established safety, quality, schedule, and profitability standards.
•Monitor job site safety production and adjust activities as needed to ensure the safe and efficient performance of all work.
•Lead detailed project and activity planning efforts to ensure the safe and efficient execution of project tasks.
•Assist with management and coordination of project equipment, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and suppliers.
•Assist with the execution of project work when the need arises, including operating tools and equipment and installing materials.
•Interface with project clients and stakeholders to effectively coordinate and communicate construction activities.
•Coordinate with company project management and engineering staff as needed to ensure the timely and accurate flow of information to field personnel.
•Assist with project kick-off and closeout efforts as needed.
•Ensure accurate and timely completion and processing of all project field documentation.
•Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work can be physically demanding. It involves frequently working in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather and working conditions. Workers may be subjected to extreme weather conditions and terrain, as well as physical circumstances involving extensive climbing, lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
It requires weekday and possibly weekend work on assigned sites and work supporting those assigned sites. Assigned sites may also require travel, overnight, or extended stays. Sites typically are in the Southwestern United States.
