Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Transportation Design Engineer to join our team! This is a great opportunity for early-career engineers eager to learn, as well as experienced professionals looking to lead and shape projects.
In this role, you’ll work on a wide range of transportation design projects—including signing and striping plans, traffic signal design, traffic control plans, and conceptual layouts for complete streets and roundabouts. Most of our work is done in close collaboration with public agencies and private sector clients, and you’ll get to see projects through from proposal to construction.
We offer a flexible hybrid schedule, but we do require local residency to allow for occasional fieldwork and in-person meetings throughout the Bay Area on short notice.
· Prepare conceptual layouts for multimodal improvements and roundabouts
· Design signing and striping plans for roadway and intersection improvements
· Develop traffic signal plans for new or modified intersections
· Create traffic control plans to support construction efforts
· Assist in developing PS&E packages (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates)
· Conduct site visits to support both design and construction phases
· Collaborate with agency staff and multidisciplinary teams
· Help write proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
· Learn from and support a team of experienced transportation professionals who are invested in your growth
