Company Profile:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer. This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (“RRSNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Transmission Intern for our summer program to join our team!

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 18, 2025 – August 7, 2025, in Downtown Houston.


Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Project EPC, Project Engineers as well as the Project and Business Development team, to achieve interconnection of utility scale solar and storage projects.

- Review and analyze utility pre-screen reports, System Impact Studies, Interconnection Service Agreements, and manage a portfolio of utility interconnection applications from initial submission through closeout.

- Support the electrical design and interconnection application process for utility scale PV, storage, wind, and hybrid projects, identify reliability and congestion constraints for FERC jurisdictional projects, other non-FERC like ERCOT, and develop integrated solutions.

- Analyze interconnection due diligence materials to support project acquisition efforts, identify existing and potential red flags.

- Review utility impact studies and upgrade estimates to identify cost or time saving measures.


Requirements:

- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.


- Assist in managing several projects simultaneously.

- Assist in providing timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.

- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa

- Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in undergraduate or graduate electrical engineering or a related discipline degree program.

- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including exceptional attention to details and ability to multitask.

- Must be a very good communicator, with good relationship skills and the ability to build relationships in a multi – cultural environmental.
