Project Manager
to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our
Transformer Project Manager
is responsible for leading end-to-end execution of transformer-related projects, including installations, upgrades, and retrofits across RMS Energy’s power systems portfolio. Acting as the main point of contact for internal teams, subcontractors, and utility customers, the
Transformer Project Manager
combines technical expertise with strong project management skills to drive successful outcomes .

Responsibilities•Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
•Provide technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership throughout transformer project execution.
•Interact directly with customers to interpret their needs and translate them into actionable plans.
•Ensure each transformer project is technically sound and meets all client requirements and safety standards.
•Perform quality control across budgets, schedules, and deliverables; report status and suggest corrective actions.
•Develop detailed transformer project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
•Administer contracts both technically and commercially.
•Lead and motivate cross-functional teams across engineering, field services, and subcontractors.
•Ensure transformer-specific project tasks are completed on time and within allocated budgets.
•Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks with well-developed contingency plans.
•Collaborate with internal teams to improve project delivery methods and overall profitability.
•Coordinate with subcontractors, including issuing RFPs and monitoring their performance.
•Oversee engineering reviews and drive corrective action where necessary.
•Implement and maintain project metrics to track quality, progress, and efficiency.
•Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and RMS standards throughout all project phases.
•Communicate effectively across functional areas and with project stakeholders.
•Exhibit resourcefulness and adaptability in managing projects with limited authority or resources.
•Accept full accountability for project outcomes.
•Assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•10+ years of experience in project management; transformer project experience is highly preferred.
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or business field preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
•NETA 2, 3, or 4 and/or PMP certification (PMI or IPMA-C) preferred.
•Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Project.
•Strong knowledge of transformer systems, substation construction, and power distribution.
•Demonstrated success with installation, testing, commissioning, retrofitting, and upgrading projects.
•Understanding of power industry clients, EPCs, and market dynamics.
•Excellent leadership, time management, and decision-making skills.
•Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
•Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, demonstrating a capacity for managing multiple priorities and driving project success.

•Ability to travel up to 10% throughout the continental USA, reflecting flexibility and commitment to project needs.
•Ability to pass a stringent drug screening and background check, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies.
•Hold a valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record, demonstrating reliability and adherence to safety regulations.

Working Conditions
The working conditions for this role primarily involve a standard office environment with typical office noise levels. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing tasks that demand visual acuity for reading and typing. This job may require travel to RMS facilities and other sites. The temperatures at the customer locations can vary between 20-100 degrees. The use of safety equipment can include safety shoes and glasses, a hard hat, and other job-specific personal protective equipment. The noise level of the work environment can vary from low to high (requiring hearing protection).
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift and carry office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, the capability to move within the office to access files, office machinery, and meeting rooms, and fine motor skills for keyboard use. Proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is essential for effective communication and documentation.
