AES Clean Energy (ACE) O&M group is seeking a candidate to assist in developing and managing a renewable technical training program for the Solar/Wind/Battery technicians.

We are seeking a proactive, highly organized Training Program Specialist to support and execute corporate training initiatives. This individual will tactically support the Manager of O&M Technical Training in executing the Training Team’s objectives and vision through the coordination, development, and delivery of training programs that span field operations and corporate teams. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in project management, training program development, learning management tools, and adult learning, along with a strong process mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

The Training team’s mission is to equip Field Operations technicians with the knowledge to operate AES sites to the highest standards and empower stakeholders with tools to collaborate at all levels of technician career progression. The main goal of the Training Team is to train technicians with experience levels ranging from entry level to advanced trouble shooting so they can safely and effectively maintain and operate the equipment.

The Training Program Specialist position is a versatile role in AES’s Technical Training team, which will evolve as the Training Program develops. During the first 6 months the role will focus on developing necessary tools and leveraging current AES software platforms to bring vision to life, and on project managing existing training offerings. Later, the role will transition into leading the adoption of tools, managing their day-to-day use, and driving updates as the Training Program continues to grow.

Duties of the Training Program Specialist will include, but is not limited to:


Training Program and Project Management tasks

Lead training services, from enrollment to completion, to increase engagement, communications, and proper reporting among stakeholders.
Maintain and update training calendars and timelines to ensure program alignment with business priorities.
Oversee logistics and scheduling for training sessions, including communications with facilitators, vendors, and field teams.
Track training program outcomes and maintain organized records of participation, feedback, and results for communication with stakeholders.
Streamline reporting and feedback loops to inform program content adjustments and stakeholder updates.
Create digital process for team documentation and version control that aligns with Training Program vision and needs, leveraging AES software platforms.
Support Manager of Training on tasks related to executing the vision of the training program and the creation and delivery of technical training content.
Lead continuous improvement efforts across training processes and program structure.
Identify opportunities to streamline training workflows and enhance program scalability and consistency.
Manage the “trickle effect” of introducing new training—ensuring updates are communicated, integrated, and adopted throughout the organization.
Build and maintain training-related tools and platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite applications, with special attention on Microsoft SharePoint.
Support the change management and communications required as Training Program evolves and processes are updated.


Instructional Design and Curriculum Development tasks

Support curriculum development and instructional design using adult learning principles and best practices.
Manage collaborators, including field technicians and subject matter experts (SMEs), to develop training content driven by technical accuracy and operational relevance within Training Program.
Project Manage content development processes guided by instructional design principles.
Assist in evaluating and improving training effectiveness through surveys, assessments, and feedback loops.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Instructional Design, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
3+ years of experience in training program management within a corporate or large organizational environment.
3+ years of experience in curriculum development and instructional design, applying andragogical (adult learning) principles
Robust experience in project management and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Proficiency and experience with Microsoft SharePoint site creation and management, or preferred experience with website design and development
Proficiency in Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) suite
Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) is preferred.

Job Location & Details:

Reports to Manager of O&M Technical Training within AES Clean Energy Operations
Available to travel up to 10% of time.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
