Job Summary

Conducts real-time (hourly, daily) purchase and sales transactions to increase margin and lower power costs. Conducts commercial transactions and monitors scheduling activities, working in a shift-based model. Maintains power schedules in event of curtailment by re-supply or rescheduling power. Responsible for interacting with the market participants to develop, negotiate, and execute opportunistic business opportunities that create value for Calpine. Analyzes and reacts to current market and competitive conditions. Responsible for analyzing and evaluating energy transactions to ensure that all relevant aspects including energy price, transmission, counterparty, and contractual terms are favorable to and consistent with company guidelines for risk management. Accurately enters all trading activities in designated databases/tools.
