Position Summary:
The SCADA Antenna Tower Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of antenna towers and communication equipment used in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Expertise in tower climbing, RF (Radio Frequency) equipment installation, and safety protocols will be crucial in ensuring the reliable operation of the SCADA communication infrastructure used by water, wastewater and stormwater utilities.
Job Duties:
•Tower Installation and Maintenance:
+ Install antenna towers and supporting foundational structures according to engineering specifications and safety standards
•RF Equipment Installation:
+ Mount and install RF antennas and other communication equipment on antenna towers and masts
+ Configure and align directional antennas to optimize signal strength, coverage, and reliability
•Tower Climbing and Safety:
+ Safely climb antenna towers to a maximum of 35 feet using proper fall protection equipment, harnesses, and climbing techniques
+ Follow strict safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks associated with tower climbing, RF exposure, and hazardous weather conditions
+ Conduct safety inspections of tower climbing equipment, personal protective gear, and rigging hardware to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
+ Most work sites are in excess of 1 hour drive from the Data Flow facilities. Travel is typically day trips, or trips up to 5 days (Mon-Fri) in length. Weekend work or travel is occasional but uncommon.
+ Travel to and from job sites is in company provided vehicles and travel time is paid as time worked.
+ Lodging expenses and a per diem are provided for overnight trips, direct reimbursement for meals on day trips up to the per-diem amounts are provided for single day trips.
•Documentation and Reporting:
+ Maintain accurate records of tower installation activities, repairs, and inspections
+ Document observations, findings, and corrective actions taken during site visits and service calls
+ Generate service reports, work orders, and completion summaries to communicate project status and findings to stakeholders

Job Requirements:
•Proven experience in tower climbing, antenna installation preferably in a telecommunications or SCADA industry preferred
•Proficiency in using hand and power tools, rigging equipment, and safety gear for tower climbing and equipment installation
•Strong understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices for working at heights and in hazardous environments
•Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors
•Physical fitness and agility to climb towers, lift heavy equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
•Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and travel to remote locations for field assignments as needed
•Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and technologies
•Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime as needed and travel to various job sites as needed to meet project requirements and deadlines
•Driver’s license with clean, insurable driving record
Education Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Demands:
•Body Positions: Includes standing, sitting, walking, lifting (up to 60 lbs), talking and hearing safety alerts
•Ability to climb antenna towers up to a maximum of 35 feet, with appropriate safety equipment and training
•Work will be primarily on job sites outdoors in hot or cold temperatures
•Hearing protection and other personal protective equipment will be required on some job sites
