Tooling Engineer

ROLE:

The P1 Tooling Engineer will assist the sales and production departments working with customers to design castings and tools to meet customer needs. They will also assist the pattern shops with design, modeling, and construction methods of new tools including tooling build and design standards. The engineer will work with production departments on continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability to apply non-uniform shrink, draft, and offset parting to models. + Horizontal and vertical molding tooling experience preferred. + Knowledge of gray and ductile iron gating and risering best practices. + CAD software

- Power Shape

- Auto CAD

- Pro-E/Creo

- Magma

- Magma C+M + Must understand different file types (IGS, XT, STL, etc.) and be able to use them accordingly for downstream use in multiple applications. + Ability to create 3D models from 2D drawings. + Understanding of casting applications and design for manufacturability.
