Energy Point Consulting is seeking an experienced Title Landman to support deliverables for one of our operated clients. This contract role supports a project with client-defined deliverables that must be completed on-site at the client’s Oklahoma City office.
While the contractor maintains discretion over how
the work is completed, the client requires that all project-related activities be performed on-site during normal business hours (M–F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) to facilitate access to confidential records, in-person collaboration, and project-specific tools.
This project is open-ended in duration and may continue as long as the client requires on-site support.
- Examine record title to properties of interest to our clients
- Review and interpret oil and gas leases, well files, and regulatory documents
- Calculate mineral interest, royalty interest, working interest, and net revenue interest from chain of title
- Identify and evaluate title defects
- Interpret key provisions in land contracts (e.g., farm-ins, JOAs, unit agreements, PSAs)
- Prepare detailed, professional title reports and documentation
- Conduct leasing and acquisition work as needed (phone, email, and in-person negotiations)
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Landman or in a related field (e.g., Land Administration, Title Abstractor, Lease/Mineral Buyer)
- Advanced understanding of Oil & Gas surface, mineral, and leasehold title
- Familiarity with Ohio/Utica Basin title and regulatory environment
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Ability to independently construct chains of title and perform complex ownership calculations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team-oriented with a self-motivated work ethic

Competitive pay based on deliverables and project scope
This is a 1099 independent contractor position and not an employment relationship with Energy Point Consulting LLC. Contractors are responsible for managing how and when they complete their work, outside of any mutually agreed collaboration periods. This project is entirely on-site at the client’s Oklahoma City office, in accordance with client requirements. No benefits are provided.
