Transpro Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Tire Technician to join our growing team. We offer a dynamic work environment and the best culture in the trucking business. The person selected for this position will be responsible for maintaining a successful tire program. The successful applicant will also perform maintenance on commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment in a safe, efficient, quality-minded and customer-focused manner.

Essential Functions:

Maintain a successful tire program:

•

Installation and maintenance of tires and wheels

•

repairing, rotating, and inflating tires

•

attaching and rebalancing wheels

•

installing/rebuilding and/or relearning/calibrating TPMS

•

washing tires and wheels

As Needed:

•

Assist Other Technicians

•

Undertake minor truck repairs

•

Perform Oil changes

•

Lubricate moving parts

•

Shop clean up

•

Clean trucks and trailers

•

Ability to do annual DOT inspections

Education/Experience:

•

1 year of experience as a tire technician (not required but preferred)

•

High School Diploma or GED required

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise

•

Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

•

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

•

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

•

Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background, and criminal checks).

Physical Demands

•

Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and crawl

•

Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.

•

Ability to lift /carry up to 100 lbs.

•

Ability to grasp tools

•

Ability to discern color

•

Repetitive motion: wrenches

•

Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday;

•

Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often;

•

Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements often;

Environmental Conditions

•

The noise level in the work environment is ranges from quiet to loud.

•

Normal setting for this job is: repair/maintenance shop.
