Position Overview:
GRDA Fleet Management is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to repair and maintain a variety of boats within the GRDA fleet. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in diagnosing and repairing boat engines, propellers, and navigational equipment while working in outdoor environments exposed to various weather conditions. This position requires travel to multiple locations and physical endurance to perform tasks in diverse settings.
Supervision Received: Performs work under the supervision of the Senior Marine Mechanic
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
•Inspect boats and trailers to ensure operational safety and compliance.
•Test marine outboard engines and electrical systems to diagnose issues and ensure proper functionality.
•Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks as needed per vessel requirements.
•Perform preventative maintenance as outlined by manufacturer specifications
•Provide guidance and answer questions from operators regarding boat maintenance.
•Repair faulty and malfunctioning components efficiently and accurately.
•Order parts and supplies as needed to complete jobs
•Complete and maintain detailed service records and repair documentation.
•Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:
•Technical Skills: The mechanic needs to be proficient in diagnosis and repair of marine engines and systems
•Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of mechanical principles of the operation of the engines
•Problem-Solving: Troubleshooting and resolution of complicated mechanical problems related to the vessel or equipment
•Attention to Detail: Precision in the performance of repairs and maintenance tasks
•Customer Service: Effective communication skills that will allow communication with the clients
•Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to the marine repairs
•Physical Stamina: This is the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to perform physically demanding tasks.
Education, Training, Experience:
•High School Diploma Required
•1-2 years of Marine Tech experience
•Marine Service Tech Certification Preferred
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
•Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:
•Must be able to stand and walk on various surfaces, including cement floors, uneven ground, slippery surfaces, open grating, and docks.
•Ability to climb extended ladders, access restrictive areas, scaffolding, stairs, and other equipment.
•Perform tasks requiring sitting, bending, stooping, working above shoulder height, and extending arms for prolonged periods.
•Lift to 50 lbs. from floor level, push and pull heavy objects in various postures, including standing and crouching.
•Exposure to outdoor elements in lake and river environments, including extreme heat and cold.
•Required to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to:
+ Hard hat
+ Flame-resistant (FR) clothing
+ Steel-toe shoes
+ Safety glasses and goggles
+ Hearing protection
+ Face coverings as required

•Position is located at the Pensacola Dam in Langley, OK
•Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
