About Thompson Creek Mine

The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometres southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods with large electric-powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Technician, Mill Utility to join our Thompson Creek team. This entry-level role is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment throughout the Mill to support safe and efficient operations.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

- Handling and transporting materials.

- Perform manual labor task, including load/unload, sweep, mop, paint and organize materials.

- Assist the maintenance teams with tasks, as needed.

- Assist in operation of Mill water systems.

- Operate and maintain equipment used in the Mill.

- Daily workplace inspections to ensure safety standards are met.

- Responsible for inventory.

- Other duties may be assigned.

About You

To qualify, the following skills and experience are required:

- Minimum high school diploma or GED.

- Possess a valid driver’s license.

- Excellent safety record.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to work safely and effectively independently, as well in a team environment.

- Good communications and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment.

- Ability to work tasks under various weather conditions.

- Attention to detail and accuracy when completing tasks.
