YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Supervisor – Energy Maintenance, the Technician - Instrumentation will perform his/her duties as a member of the Energy & Infrastructure Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. The technician will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all equipment related to instrumentation and control for the process plant. In addition, they will perform various electrical tasks related to motors as well as tasks related to the PLC. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
•Work on instruments such as transducers, gas detectors, weight meters, flow controllers, and various chemical process analyzers and sensors, ensuring all systems are wired to communicate with the PLC;
•Responsible for instrumentation equipment maintenance;
•Perform field work and troubleshooting using the PLC;
•Perform tuning and equipment adjustments;
•Ensure that the instrument readings are reliable and accurate at all times;
•Perform drawing updates with AutoCad;
•Build and maintain instrumentation data sheets;
•Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
•Report all near-misses and incidents to the supervisor;
•Any other duties required by the Supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•College Degree in Instrumentation and Control or equivalent;
•A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician;
•A valid Electrical Journeyman license, license C or equivalent, would be considered an asset;
•Wonderware system knowledge is required;
•Meet the physical requirements to perform the duties of the job;
•Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
•Experience working in a multicultural environment;
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule:
•Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
