Primary purpose:
To maintain air quality and emissions compliance per regulations and manage the LDAR field monitoring programs for all applicable Tallgrass facilities. Work will include field monitoring work, if necessary, managing vendor that conducts field monitoring, and program management (recordkeeping, reporting, and plan maintenance), technical support and recommendations, and other duties as required.
Conduct FLIR camera leak monitoring as required by permit and regulations at Tallgrass Energy facilities. Conduct additional instrumentation monitoring as required (e.g. high flow sampler).
Position may be filled as Air Compliance Technician I or II pending candidate experience.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
•Conduct field monitoring for VOC and GHG leaks using TVA and FLIR camera.
•Manage LDAR field monitoring contractor, as needed, at facilities to ensure regulatory compliance of monitoring, repair, recordkeeping, and reporting. This includes routine reviews for cost control and regulatory compliance.
•Use, manage and provide continuous improvement for LDAR database application, working with database vendor, users and IT.
•Compile and submit reports of FLIR and LDAR monitoring events to air compliance engineers and operations.
•Follow up with operations to ensure that leaks are repaired timely and ensure proper recordkeeping.
•Prepare and maintain detailed emission monitoring reports and other regulatory required data that is utilized to demonstrate the Company is operating in compliance with state and federal emissions limitations.
•Read, understand and interpret air quality permit requirements associated with each facility in an assigned area.
•Properly operate and maintain portable emission analyzer and other sampling/testing equipment.
•Collaborate with operations, compliance specialists and vendors to conduct routine training, update LDAR and FLIR monitoring program plans, and improve overall LDAR and FLIR monitoring programs.
•Establish and maintain effective working relationship with air compliance, operations, vendors, and other affected groups.
•Foster communication with the workforce to strengthen the importance of EHS objectives, policies and procedures.
•Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures and applicable LDAR and GHG monitoring regulations, standards and guidelines.
•Collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
•Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
•Perform internal facility assessments on routine basis to ensure equipment compliance with air permitting.
•Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
•Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
•Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
•Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline.
•A minimum of two (2) years field work experience in environmental or field work within the oil and gas industry may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
A minimum of four (4) years field work experience in environmental or field work within the oil and gas industry. ( Level II* )
•Working knowledge and experience with electronic equipment, high pressure gas, processing equipment, reciprocating two and four cycle integral/separable or gas turbine engines, electric motors along with reciprocating and centrifugal compressors and liquid pumps.
•Working knowledge of reciprocating & centrifugal engine and compressor performance and maintenance analysis.
•Working knowledge of LDAR and FLIR monitoring regulations specific to the oil and gas industry.
•Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
•Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations, and other internal and external groups.
•Must be comfortable working with remote pipeline systems and personnel.
•Strong mechanical aptitude.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
•Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
•FLIR Professional Infrared Camera Certification or equivalent.

•The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
Direct experience with LDAR and some experience with FLIR / OGI camera monitoring and use of other instrumentation (e.g. high flow sampler).
