We are looking for a Technical Services Manager for our Deland, FL office!
- Manage and oversee the work of pre-sale and post-sale engineers, ensuring consistent application of engineering standards, code compliance, and best practices.
- Coordinate technical support for sales, specifications, submittals, and warranty/compliance reviews.
- Approve and stamp technical documentation as needed, ensuring constructability and compliance with all codes and regulations.
- Provide strategic guidance in developing department processes, technical policies, and knowledge management systems.
- Represent the organization in technical discussions, client meetings, industry groups, and regulatory forums.
- Coordinate technical support across sales, R&D, drafting, and project management teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
- Manage workload distribution, resource planning, and performance reviews for team members.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize customer support, design efficiency, and compliance.
- Mentor and coach engineers across all levels, supporting career development and succession planning.
- Follow the Group Code of Conduct and Group Compliance.
- Follow Compliance requirements per “KNA-SOP-1705 Compliance Roles and Responsibilities.”
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities - Aligned to ASCE Guidelines:
- Lead and manage the Technical Services department, setting priorities, goals, and KPIs.Lead and manage complex engineering projects from concept through completion.
- Independently evaluate, select, and adapt advanced engineering techniques and procedures.
- Solve challenging technical problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Serve as a technical expert and advisor across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, specifications, and documentation.
- Represent the organization in meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
- Contribute to strategic planning and policy development within the engineering function.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline) from an ABET-EAC-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Typically, 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.- Demonstrated expertise in applying advanced engineering principles and practices, with proven leadership experience in technical service or engineering teams.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Member of professional practice organization preferred.
