The Technical Services Engineer supports the engineering activities for Certarus and is primarily focused on providing technical support to the Operations & Sales Teams. The position reports to the Lead Technical Services Engineer and will travel to Canada and US field locations.
Schedule: - This position holds normal business hours, with 20-30% travel expected - We support a hybrid work environment consisting of flexible remote and in-person collaboration at our corporate offices and field locations
- Safety Champion to help promote a proactive and positive safety culture within Certarus
- Bridge communications between the Engineering Team and Operations at various levels
- Provide technical assistance to the field and visit customer sites as needed
- Work with Procurement to secure critical parts as needed to support ongoing contracts
- Consistently audit equipment parameters in SCADA
- Assist with RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) and analyze data to determine and correct problem areas.
- Support and implement the deployment of the PRS reliability program
- Perform CSI audits to ensure accurate and consistent data across the company
- Support ongoing development and execution of the Certarus Training Program
- Write Safe Working Procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and any other documentation relevant to mitigating safety risks or improving Certarus’ operations
- Applications support and technical expertise during customer office and/or field site visits
- Competent with commissioning new build and retrofit PRS equipment
- Build tools and processes to standardize or simplify day-to-day work and improve consistency
- Collaborating with the Engineering Equipment team to aid in the design and development of next-gen equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical role within an industrial hands-on environment, with oilfield experience being an asset- Ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience with data analysis, electrical, controls, piping systems, and compressed gases is strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, Canadian Electrical Code, and National Electrical Code is an asset
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced cultures
