Control Room Operator is responsible for Powders Processing Equipment on all lines.
Essential Functions
- Operates and Monitors process lines from the control room.
- Understands specifications and modifies process to meet specifications.
- Monitors process lines from the control panels and understands what the data is saying; takes action as needed.
- Troubleshoots operational problems in the process lines.
- Coordinates flow of communication both internally and externally within department.
- Directs Process Attendant to areas needing attention and sets priorities
- Responsible for product analysis (Quality Assurance) per documented procedures.
- Interacts with the Powders QMS (Quality Management System) as needed for documents.
- Interacts with Powders SPC (Statistical Process Control) as directed.
- Interacts with Powders CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) as needed for data inputs and outputs.
- Performs field inspections of operating equipment; entering work requests as needed based on findings.
- Performs operations involving use or transfer of strong corrosive acid and have a strong understanding of the safety implications.
- Keeps their work areas clean and free of clutter.
- Prepares and manages correspondence, reports and documents.
- Communicates verbally: answer inquiries and provides information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications:
- Must meet the assessment requirements for this position.
- Must possess basic mechanical skills such as but not limited to: use of hand tools, tape measure, caulking gun, etc.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on product specifications, SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions), AIQ processes, and similar documents.
- Must have the capability to read and understand Powders registrations such as ISO, HACCP, and FAMIQs and meet their position roles within the registrations.
- Must have understanding of process controls.
- Must understand all safety requirements and other communications.
- Must have good verbal communication skills
- Must have computer skills such that they can open programs, navigate the network, enter information electronically, and save electronic forms on the network.
