Are you an experienced Leader in Operations and / or Maintenance and looking for a new challenge to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our Oakville distribution terminal?
In this role, you will lead a team of 17 operators at the terminal which stores, handles, loads and transports refined products in a dynamic 7/24/365 operating environment 4/365.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Prior operations or maintenance leadership experience in oil and gas or a related industry facility operations , preferably in a unionized environment.
- Strong leadership and social skills required for good communication with terminal staff, cross functional teams, customers, supply partners, governmental agencies and external community organizations
- Knowledge of legislative requirements in keeping with the petroleum logistics industry, such as Transport Canada (especially Transportation of Dangerous Goods), Canadian Fuels Association, Measurement Canada, Environment Canada, Liquid Fuels Handling Code, and Fire Code
- Deep understanding of finance and budget/cost control processes
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Supervise a team of terminal operators while ensuring training needs are reviewed and met to maintain operating efficiency and effectiveness
- Schedule, plan and lead safety initiatives at the site and conduct incident investigation with applicable reporting
- Manage a large operating expense budget and meet budget targets
- Perform site inspections to oversee plant equipment, operational reliability and manage applicable key performance indicators
- Lead non-resident contractors who are responsible for site maintenance
- Coordinate with municipal services and other external partners for emergency preparedness and response
- Perform administrative duties including payroll, purchase orders, maintenance notifications, ordering office supplies
- You will be located at 3275 Rebecca ST, Oakville ON L6L6N5 at our Oakville Terminal
- The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (night shifts are not required)
- This position has been identified as safety sensitive
- You are responsible for overseeing an operating plant in an outdoor, all-weather industrial facility and will be expected to inspect the outdoor facilities regularly while wearing full personal protective equipment
- You are expected to resolve issues 24/7, and operational needs or emergencies may require you to travel to the terminal site in a timely manner outside of normal business hours
- You will occasionally travel to our Mississauga office and other operational facilities to meet with supervisors, other work units and deal with ongoing or emerging issues
