The Tax Manager will support the company’s tax compliance and reporting processes across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves preparing and filing various tax returns, assisting with tax provisions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Domestic & International Compliance Oversight
- Oversee U.S. domestic and international tax compliance across all federal, state, and local jurisdictions, including the review and filing of complex forms such as 1120, 5471, 5472, 1118, and other related international information returns and issues [1].
- Manage state and local tax (SALT) compliance for income/franchise taxes, ensuring accurate apportionment and nexus determinations across various jurisdictions.
- Responsible for Sales and Use Tax review, ensuring all transactions are correctly reported and filings are submitted on time.
- Oversee property tax review and compliance, coordinating with local authorities and ensuring accurate valuation and timely payment.
- Financial Reporting & Provision (ASC 740)
- Review quarterly and annual tax provision for financial statement and SEC reporting purposes, adhering to ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109) and managing uncertain tax positions under FIN 48.
- Responsible for preparation and analysis of APB 23 related to unremitted earnings and related disclosures for financial statement reporting.
- Strategic Planning & Advisory
- Responsible for tax planning as it relates to U.S. and non-U.S. operations [4], identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the global tax posture.
- Assist in the preparation of tax planning advice related to contract reviews and special tax projects to ensure tax efficiency and compliance with local tax rules and regulations.
- Liaise with foreign tax advisors and internal legal/finance teams to coordinate global tax strategies and ensure alignment.
- Assist in due diligence reviews for potential mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring initiatives, and provide strategic tax planning advice related to these activities.
- Transfer Pricing & Audit Management
- Responsible for maintaining contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation for both U.S. and certain non-U.S. jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with global regulations and managing associated tax planning.
- Manage all tax audits and inquiries from federal, state, local, and international tax authorities, preparing detailed responses, coordinating documentation, and negotiating settlements.
- Technology & Process Improvement
- Lead the implementation of tax technology and process improvements, leveraging automation, data analytics, and modern tax software to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
- Optimize data collection and analysis to support the tax function's needs for compliance, provision, and planning.
- Assist with income tax audits and various projects as needed- Accounting degree, 10+ years experience in Tax, must have their CPA
- CPA designation and/or Master's degree in Taxation
- CPA designation and/or Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
- Extensive experience with U.S. federal and state tax compliance, international tax provisions (ASC 740), and information reporting
- Proven ability to manage complex tax audits and handle various tax types (income, sales & use, property).
- Strong proficiency in tax preparation software, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred), and data analysis tools.
