The Systems and Software Analyst II is responsible for collaboration within – product and project teams by analyzing business and technical opportunities and challenges in order to define and execute effective system configuration, integration, implementation, and support.
Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role may vary based on business needs, but typically include the following:
•Troubleshoot system-related issues and ensure timely resolutions; documenting triage efforts, steps to resolve, and closing tickets in a timely manner
•Influence technical product strategy, direction, and goals by understanding business/technical context and working with product and project teams to translate those into technical solutions
•Build and support relationships with key users and leadership, as well as suppliers, working within the team to establish and maintain an understanding of the specific product lifecycle and system and process dependencies
•Achieve technology, business and project goals through collaboration within the team and across teams to determine what needs to be done, why, how, and by when
•Ensure platforms, systems and technical documentation are available to meet business needs (incl. on-call support rotation participation) and leverage lessons learned by applying them to our products and ways of working
•In partnership with business units, assess system and software performance, identifying key areas for improvement and documenting those items into a backlog for review and prioritization
•Develop system documentation, workflows, and training materials as appropriate
•Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices, including attending conferences when required / recommended
•Assist in testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable system functionality
•Support database management, integration efforts, and application configurations
Education/Experience Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphic information systems, or related fields (equivalent experience/certifications/degrees will be taken into consideration)
•Two (2) years’ related experience
Preferred Experience/Skillset:
•Providing detailed design, development, documentation, implementation, and training of new GIS/Operations-related programs and maintenance of existing programs on client/server systems and personal computers.
•Coordinating with business technology teams to deliver on-time requirements and applications
•Development, deployment, administration, and tuning web services and related web applications to be consumed by both internal and external clients.
•Adopting new GIS technologies through third party training or individual research, both proprietary and open source. Advocate for enterprise GIS solutions.
•Providing system performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup & recovery, upgrades & service packs. Manage other duties and projects as required.
•Knowledge & experience of at least one commercial RDBMS, including but not limited to Oracle/MS SQL Server.
•Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, C#, Java, Visual Basic, Arcade, etc.).
•Experience with ArcObjects, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and ArcGIS Server.
•Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise preferably 10.9.1 or higher.
•Experience working in traditional (waterfall) and agile software delivery environments.
