System Protection Engineer

Job Description:

The System Protection Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the engineering support for transmission system protection system equipment and disturbance monitoring equipment applied at voltages up to and including 500 kV class. Investigates outages, collects data, and assists with system restoration following disturbances and prepare reports as required. Directs the preparation of protection system coordination studies at periodic intervals and following outages.

: There is one position available, and the position will be filled at one of two job grade levels: Engineer III (System Protection), job grade 9; or Senior Engineer (System Protection), job grade 10. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Senior Engineer (System Protection)

Hiring Salary Range: $106,000-$148,000

Engineer III (System Protection)

Hiring Salary Range: $96,000-$133,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
