System Operator I, II or III

Arizona G&T Cooperatives is seeking candidates for the position of System Operator I, II or III in Benson, AZ. This position will be responsible for acquiring the necessary job skills to perform real-time operations of Bulk Power Systems (BPS) performing real-time actions during normal and emergency conditions to ensure the stable and reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System (BES). A System Operator I will be required, within 9 months, to obtain a NERC Certification (BT or RC) and within an additional 6 months to complete AEPCO/NERC Qualification Card. A System Operator II will be required, within 6 months, to obtain a NERC Certification (BI&T or RC) and within an additional 3 months to complete AEPCO/NERC Qualification Card. A System Operator III will be required, within 3 months, to complete NERC Certification (BI&T or RC) and within an additional 3 months to complete AEPCO/NERC Qualification Card.

Preferred Requirements

Minimum requirements are a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree in applicable field is preferred. Up to Five years of prior work experience in one of the following areas or a combination of the following areas:

Successful candidates should also have High level of critical thinking skills, high level of multi-tasking abilities, above average mathematical aptitude, high level of communication skills including 3-part communications, and reasonable mechanical aptitude. Candidates must have the ability to pass 7-Year background check.
