Overview
The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Systems Analyst will function as the technical lead for the implementation and support of the AMI platform, which includes Meter Data Management (MDM) and Meter Asset Management (MAM). This role is critical since it requires a thorough understanding of AMI technologies, including networking, system and application software. This well-rounded individual will work with various Information Technology teams to ensure that system testing is conducted in an effective manner and that all customers throughout the company are receiving the appropriate information to perform their work and in a timely manner. Another critical role is the capacity planning for the entire required infrastructure, which will need to be planned for and implemented across five years. A cost-effective approach will be required to ensure that technologies are current, and the project remains within budget.The Systems Analyst will be working cross functionally with various Information Resources support teams as well as customers throughout the company to continuously improve systems performance and adhere to corporate computing security requirements. The Systems Analyst will be the technical lead for the AMI technical architecture team and will at times be asked to participate in all areas of the project including working closely with various AMI and Information Resources teams.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities•The Systems Analyst will be responsible for contributing, with guidance, to the analysis of system problems and the formulation of system changes. Troubleshoot production application issues, review performance and document results and root cause analyses. This individual will be well versed with the general knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, systems development, and an increased emphasis on attention to detail.

•The Systems Analyst will function as a member of a collaborative team by contributing to software upgrades through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation). The individual will gain experience supporting the critical IT systems which are responsible for the 24/7 operations of the AMI Infrastructure. Also gaining valuable data analytical skills by supporting and monitoring our business applications and end users as well.
•Support department goals and provide analysis of system problems. Prepare for system changes and upgrades, including monitoring and documentation updates.
•Meet with business users to gather and refine system requirements. Additionally, will translate business needs into actionable technical specifications.
•Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
•Support the iteration and maintenance of IT systems, which consists of supporting the company's Advanced Metering Infrastructure ecosystem. These systems support the data received from smart electric meters, as well as from gas meters/leak detectors. Supporting the system that delivers this data as well be crucial to ensuring continuity across all IT systems.
•Collaborate with system specialists on various application improvements.
•Works with vendors to deploy software fixes and support testing across various AMI systems.
•Assist in troubleshooting high-priority system issues and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
•Flexibility to perform other assignments as needed by the department.
•Prepare routine maintenance change management for production moves, including documentation, communication and releases.
•Maintain code integrity and organizational standards through version control and documentation best practices.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
•Associate's Degree and four (4) years of experience in an Information Technology (IT) related field. or
•Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience in an Information Technology (IT) related field.
Relevant Work Experience
•Knowledge of application support, troubleshooting and debugging, required.
•Exposure to systems design across one or more platforms and supporting future integrations of these systems, required.
•Understanding of Waterfall, Agile or other rapid application development methods, required.
•Experience with technical documentation and communication to IT and business groups, required.
•Exposure to methods relating to application design, software development, and automated testing, preferred.
•Experience supporting a large infrastructure of systems, preferred.
•Experience with SQL or other query tools, Azure DevOps and Python, preferred.
•Exposure to Grafana and dashboards created by IT, preferred.
•Has a strong sense of ownership and is not afraid to speak up, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
•The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
•Must be able and willing to work overtime and travel within Company service territory, as needed.
•Must be flexible with work hours, be on call and respond to emergencies.
