Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises foremen (PECO only) and craft personnel engaged in the construction, operation and maintenance of company substation equipment. Supervises resources in a manner that ensures the safe, efficient, economical, and expeditious completion of work with high regard for cost, quality and customer satisfaction to accomplish desired results. Promotes safety principles and assists in the training and development of the craft workforce. Ensures the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Maintains an environment that promotes safety, environmental compliance, diversity, innovation and high productivity. At BGE, this position may also have responsibility for supervising a unit that is responsible for installation, maintenance, testing and repair of complex protective relaying schemes, metering, and remote control and data systems in substations including reviewing engineering drawings, making field checks, and planning operational tests in support of functional responsibilities. Coordinates technical activities and leads, directs, and provides liaison for complex work. Participates in planning and ensures close coordination with other units for execution of substation or plant construction projects. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
