Position Concept
The Superintendent Generation (SPO) is responsible in a line capacity to the Manager of Operations for ensuring the generating units are operated in a safe, cost effective, and efficient manner. The SPO is responsible for maintaining environmental compliance, NERC compliance, water management, and the dispatch of units consistent with system load requirements with the Energy Control Center. The SPO is responsible for the supervision, development, coaching, and counseling of all assigned personnel. The SPO ensures that equipment conditions are accurately documented and provides input to maintenance for work scheduling and prioritization. The SPO provides input to the Manager of Operations for long and short-term manpower planning and annual budget preparation.
Duties And Responsibilities
Education Required:
A minimum of a high school education
Preferred:
Some formal ongoing management training is desired. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution
Experience Required:
Ten (10) years of power plant experience, with experience in operations or in a technical role that supports operations.
OR
Twenty (20) years of relevant power plant experience.
Preferred
Experience supervising covered or craft employees.
Experience in coal fired and combined cycle operation.
