Job Title: Supplier Engagement and Development Specialist

The Supplier Engagement and Development team is laser focused on building and nurturing relationships with local suppliers to strengthen the organization’s supply chain and contribute measurable benefits to the local economy within Entergy’s footprint. This is known as the Operating Company (OpCo) Centric model. The Supplier Engagement and Development Specialist is a key member of this team and drives supplier stakeholder engagement efforts.
Develop and implement initiatives to ensure inclusion of local suppliers in the competitive acquisitions of services, material and equipment meeting the Company's various procurement needs across Supply and the Company, enterprise wide.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key local supplier advocacy and business development organizations across Mississippi and Arkansas. Execute supplier discovery and engagement events to increase visibility into the potential local supplier pool and eventual pipeline. Collaborating with SED training and development leads to deliver live training sessions for Mississippi and Arkansas based suppliers.
- Serve as a liaison to connect the SED team members responsible for all business unit engagement and the Nuclear and Transmission organizations. Manage the annual goal setting for targeted spending with local suppliers. Manage the integration of local supplier content into the Category Management Model.
- Create and implement robust communication strategy that outlines wins and success stories across the organization via multiple channels. The communications strategy should increase visibility and progress of the local spend strategy, solicit buy in and build internal and external confidence around the execution of the program pillars.
- Coordination with procurement and supply chain communicators as well as those leading Entergy wide and external communication efforts is essential.
- Implement and monitor P&SC program elements that accelerate local supplier opportunities and utilization. Introduce and execute mitigations if programmatic elements aren’t meeting intended outcomes. These program elements include but aren’t limited to the preferred supplier program.
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field or equivalent experience.
5 years supplier/customer relationship management experience, this can include procurement experience
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and community organizations.
- Ability to deliver training content in a compelling and engaging manner
- Functional capacity to adjust processes and controls based on real time feedback and dynamic business objectives
- Desired: Knowledge of working within highly regulated industrial environments.
