Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.
The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

Supervisor Training
Support the execution and continuous improvement of training programs across the mine site to promote safety, operations, employee development, and compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. Acts as the frontline lead for training coordination and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Oversees day-to day training needs analysis, coordination and delivery of effective training programs.
•Execute short-term training strategies that support employee training; ensure strategies are concretely linked to the organization’s overall strategy.
•Identify training needs or gaps.
•Determine source of any gaps and appropriate method to close the gaps.
•Provide hands-on support during training rollouts, including logistics and material preparation.
•Support trainers and subject matter experts during technical or on-the-job training sessions.
•Foresees and removes barriers to training program success and escalates major issues to Senior Management.
•Collaborates with cross functional teams and considers the business impact of decisions on diverse groups; influences others to achieve project goals often without direct authority.
Area 2:
To advise the management group on employee training.
•Prepares reports regarding training programs and initiatives and presents recommendations and status updates to key stakeholders.
•Prepare internal material and tests for individual training modules and needs.
•Work closely with operational supervisors, safety officers, and HR to align training priorities with site needs.
•Identifies the need for and develops company-wide standards, procedures, and policies and ensures compliance with industry and professional regulations.
•Ensures all training programs are integrated with other business activities.
•Have training material reviewed by peers and supervisors prior to use.
•Provide input to the Superintendent of Training on trends, challenges, and resource needs.
Area 3:
To lead and manage a team responsible for executing an employee training strategy
•Sets performance targets and measures, monitors and manages overall performance of the function and direct reports.
•Lead the training team in delivering high-quality, effective training programs that align with site safety targets and organizational goals.
•Mentoring and supporting team members, proactively developing initiatives that enhance workforce competency and contribute to a strong safety culture on-site.
•Builds the capabilities of the team to enhance [function]’s ability to achieve financial and operating strategy; hires appropriately, leverages the talents of the function and takes corrective action where necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
•“Train the Trainer” certification
•Certificate/diploma in a related field (mining, trades, education, safety) or equivalent work experience.
Work experience - Nature & Length
•5+ years of industry experience with exposure to training or safety roles.
Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
•Ability to learn quickly.
•Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
•Bilingual – English & French
•Good working knowledge of MS Office.
•Possession of a valid driver’s license.
