Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Leads and directs multiple teams in the management and operation of the print shop and mail room. Organizes, plans and directs all printing and mailing services to ensure workflows within the print and mail areas meet the company’s and internal customers’ needs while maintaining a professional degree of finish for all projects and abiding by strict confidentiality guidelines. Assures customer bill statements are mailed out on time and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Monitors and implement all USPS regulations and requirements to ensure all mail functions are in full compliance. Researches and negotiates department contracts and equipment purchases with vendors. Maintains schedules for preventive equipment maintenance contracts. Collaborates with customers across MDUR companies to assure printing, mailing and shipping requests are completed in a professional, cost effective and timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•An in-depth knowledge of print management, scheduling and production at a level normally acquired through the completion of a two-year technical degree with emphasis in printing and graphics technology; and
•Five years print shop experience of increasing responsibilities; and
•Supervisory, project management or department lead experience.

•Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
•May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
•Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Four-year degree in Business Administration.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
•Reviews printing requests from all MDU Resources companies. Provides technical assistance and guidance to staff to ensure a quality product is provided in a cost-effective and timely manner. Coordinates and evaluates various projects with the Intranet & Graphic Projects Coordinator, Corporate Communications staff and outside design firms to assist with technical specifications for design, color saturation, equipment operations, cost estimates, and customer satisfaction. Determines and assigns the best method for completion of projects, whether internal or outsourced.
•Keeps abreast of all USPS postal regulations and procedures to assure that mail from all MDU Resources companies is expedited in the most cost effective manner. Manage common carrier services for freight and overnight shipments (FedEx, UPS, common carrier, etc.). Establishes and manages local courier runs to provide for the daily delivery of mail and packages between the MDU Resources affiliated companies. Mitigate all issues associated with those services.
•Directs and supervises all printing and mail operations staff. Administers personnel policies and procedures in areas of responsibility and participates in the interviewing and hiring process for the department. Works closely with upper management from all of the MDU Resources companies on specific print projects and documents; assures strict confidentiality is maintained.
•Manages the daily printing and mailing process for all MDU Utilities Group customer bill statements. Works with local vendors to provide backup for emergency printing and mailing processes.
•Monitors and approves the purchase of office supplies for the MDU General Office. Manages inventory and approves the purchase of all printing supplies, department equipment supplies, and mail operations supplies that are vital to the completion of projects requested by MDU Resources companies. Purchases printing and mail equipment parts as needed. Must be attentive to quality and pricing for all products.
•Maintains cost control in areas of responsibility. Accounts for purchases by ensuring responsibility account codes are accurately assigned to invoices. Assists in the preparation of annual O&M budgets by researching pricing and trends in supplies and materials. Identifies and recommends equipment purchases for capital budget process to assure department responsibilities are met in an efficient manner.
