- Ensure that all facilities for projects located primarily on the US LP system are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate standards.
- Work with Project Development to provide input to cost estimates on scope, cost, and schedule for facilities projects in development.
- Provide leadership to direct reports to define scope, technical expertise, scheduling, cost control, and forecasting for the design work and reporting these to the Project Manager during execution of projects.
- Reviews vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends to the Manager selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery.
- Participates in design review meetings to ensure consistency in the scope, design and expected performance as well as work out constructability and operability issues.
- Reviews the selection of optimum sites or locations for proposed facilities bases upon function, cost, quality, safety, environmental concerns, Operations’ needs, construction requirements, permitting requirements, and other considerations. The intricacies of developing a new site or integrating a new design with existing facilities are considered and evaluated.
- Track and direct maintenance and reviews of company specifications, standards, and design guidelines. Work to refine and develop Enbridge preferences with Operations engagement.
- Oversees, develops, and recommends new design methods to reduce operating and maintenance costs, and eliminate problems associated with various types of facilities.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with employee development, performance management, compensation, and employee relation matters.
- Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical or other related Engineering field
- Minimum 10 years of gas pipeline industry experience required
- Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change
- Experience with liquids facilities operations
- Professional Engineering License
- Demonstrated excellent human relations, influencing, and listening skills to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with other departments to achieve goals
Include but are not limited to: Ability to work in both office and field environments, capability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, physically able to travel frequently for overnight business trips
