About This Job


Primary Purpose:

The role of the Mechanical Superintendent is to provide technical leadership for his team within the Turnaround Department. This is a key position within the Maintenance Department and functions as a steward in progressing the Cameron LNG mechanical team culture to a sustainably proactive and strategic mode of operation. This role is responsible for aligning the mechanical team with O&M Planning/Scheduling, Projects, Engineering, HSSE departments and is accountable for Managing, Planning, Controlling, Directing, and acting as the Shift Lead during turnaround execution. This role must also ensure compliance with all HSSE and regulatory requirements to achieve targeted plant and reliability goals.

This position has weekend work requirements and call out responsibilities and will be located in Hackberry Louisiana.Employees’ primary residence must be located within a one-hour drive from the Hackberry plant site. This measure will assure that response time for callouts is kept to a minimum, which increases the safety of our employees in an unexpected or emergent situation. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is required.


Responsibilities/Duties:


Provides daily leadership responsibilities for mechanical team
Along with E&I Superintendent, manage teams to meet deliverables set by TA Manager
Interfaces with the other maintenance groups, operations and other departments as needed to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance and facility operation
Uphold and ensure compliance with standards for performance and behavior within discipline team
Execution POC during turnarounds or pitstops to lead the assigned shift
Accountable for development, oversight and adherence to discipline budget/forecast
Accountable for development, oversight and adherence to discipline procedures, PMs, KPI’s and regulatory compliance
Assist with review/development of new and existing strategies and then lead implementation efforts
Primary point of contact with Turnaround Team with respect to mechanical discipline in reviewing T/A scope
Manage risk and promote risk awareness amongst employees
Coach and develop the team to optimize performance and commitment
Lead team change initiatives to optimize business performance and/or ensure a smooth transition. Work in harmony with other departments in succession and talent planning.
Manage the overall formulation of short and long-term mechanical maintenance strategies
Work on special projects as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


Education:


Must have strong knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems
Must have Turnaround/Routine Maintenance project experience
Must be willing to maintain TWIC identification card
Must have Supervisory experience


Experience:


Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or minimum of 10 years of experience in piping, valves, fixed and rotating equipment maintenance inside an industrial facility
Strong knowledge of a Hydrocarbon plant Process and safe work practices
Proven Management of high functioning teams in an Operations and Maintenance Environment


Preferred:

Experience in Liquefied Natural Gas production and/or natural gas processing
Experience in heavy industrial, petrochemical, or refining
Experience in 7EA gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, and high-speed rotating equipment.
Experience in managing long term service agreements w/ equipment OEM’s.


Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Knowledge of budgeting, planning, scheduling and associated computer software such as SAP and related reports (KPIs).
Good computer skills including Microsoft Suite (excel, word and PowerPoint)
Ability to communicate fluently in English.
Organized and able to manage multiple activities timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
Self-starter with ability to work strategically with minimal direction.
Driven to meet and exceed performance parameters.
Strong attention to details.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Able to remain calm and effective in emergencies. Understands and deals comfortably with a sense of urgency.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with terminal facility employees, vendors, and suppliers.
Possesses the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with 1) management, 2) peers and 3) the various facility level workers whom are all responsible for ensuring good operations.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, climb, run, sit, kneel, twist, bend, pull, push, carry, lift, reach overhead and drive. Most activities involve movement of either the upper and lower body extremities or both and the joints associated with these areas of the body.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders that ranges from 4 ft to 200 ft.
Must be able to lift equipment needed to perform work.
Must be able to wear safety equipment and other protective equipment as needed to perform job.
When outdoors, this classification is exposed to extremes of heat, cold, loud noise and dust.
Must be able to climb stairs and/or walk on uneven surfaces.
Must be able to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time.
Must be willing to be on call, work outside of normal business hours as required and handle emergency response responsibilities.
Must be able and willing to travel for trainings and/or meetings as required.

DOT Requirements:

The U.S Department of Transportation (DOT) and the company have adopted regulations governing the control of drug use by persons in certain job classifications.
