The IT Intern will be responsible for preparing company laptops, workstations and other end user devices as well as assisting users with request associated to technology.
- IT Tier1 support by contributing to the administration of the IT help desk. Providing end user device support services to users. Install/support application software to meet user needs. Provision new laptops/workstations and provide adequate training to users.
- Network support by providing user assistance with wireless & wired communication. User account, security group, & distribution list administration. Assist in maintaining End User Device inventory.
- Communication support by aiding with phone (VoIP), Satellite, and Cell phone support.
- Evaluating systems and procedures in order to gauge effectiveness, implementing alternative systems if required and remain knowledgeable of new technology applicable to the Detour Lake Mine site.
- Enrolled in a College or University Program in an Information Technology Field;
- 1 to 2 years related work experience;
- Training in LAN/WAN/Wireless technologies, Windows Desktop, Active Directory, Office 365, VoIP phone systems is an asset.
- Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;
- High level of integrity and accountability;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of personnel.
