Henkels & McCoy West is looking for a dedicated Substation QA/QC Inspector to join our teams in Santa Clara, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting quality assurance and quality control inspections across a variety of construction and maintenance projects. Your primary objective will be to ensure all work meets strict quality standards, complies with industry regulations, and aligns with internal company policies. The QA/QC Inspector is a vital part of our commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellences supporting each project through detailed inspections, accurate documentation, and clear communication.
- Perform comprehensive inspections of construction elements including foundations, structural steel, electrical systems, control wiring, and grounding installations.
- Inspect above- and below-ground conduit installations for adherence to project specifications and design plans.
- Conduct quality control testing and inspections in alignment with contract requirements and company standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate, complete QA/QC inspection reports and records.
- Manage and update the submittal log and other project-specific quality documentation
- Ensure construction and maintenance activities comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, ACI), as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow company-established quality control and safety procedures at all times
- Ensure inspection results and corrective actions are thoroughly recorded and summarized in formal reports.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by project management
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field preferred
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) preferred
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience within direct substation construction
- Minimum 2 years’ experience QA/QC roles in the electrical field
- Strong understanding of electrical and civil engineering principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
