Substation Engineering Technician I - Relay & Controls Focused

Provide design and technical support for substation relay and controls projects while ensuring the design requirements and the objectives of the department are met.
A typical starting range for this position is $68,000 - $94,000 annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Two-year technical degree (such as drafting, electricity, electronics, or architecture), AND typically, up to 3 years of design or utility industry related experience.
· Some substation relay and controls design experience within the utility industry strongly preferred.
· Some experience with drafting substation relay and controls drawings within the utility industry strongly preferred.
· Some experience creating substation relay and controls drawings from mark ups provided by engineers or higher-level substation engineering technicians strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of and ability to apply safety codes, standards, and practices within a substation relay and controls setting strongly preferred.
· Proven skill in developing positive working relationships with other team members.
· Ability to identify and distinguish colors are required.
