J&S Power Commissioning Engineers are on-site leaders and technical experts for substation construction and testing services. Acts as the responsible Senior Commissioning Engineer on substation construction projects for Utility and Industrial Clients. Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing testing and commissioning of transmission and distribution substation additions or modifications. Provides overall technical supervision of construction, commissioning, and testing activities to ensure compliance with client’s and equipment manufacture specifications. Responsible for creation of commissioning checkout guides and outage plans. Responsible for communicating construction updates and testing expectations to project management and testing team. Provide in-field substation design review with support of engineering staff to ensure end product meets client’s needs and expectations. Directs and advises on design changes when required by differing site conditions. Responsible for interpreting and approving major equipment and relay testing results. Plans, performs, and documents the commissioning of substation protection and controls. Oversees relay and equipment functional testing and provides on site engineering solutions when issues arise. Evaluates and partners with construction contractor to ensure schedule, solve issues, and communicate to project stake holders real-time updates. Responsible for project testing documentation and closeout (red lines, test results, utility regulation documentation). During entire project life cycle
J&S Power Commissioning engineers work closely with project team to set expectations and give engineering guidance on installations and construction. 100% on-site job reports at substation construction sites.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 3 years of experience performing electrical transmission and distribution engineering and field service engineering.
